Star Gate-8 is the only gate in the map that is Guardian-appointed yet sits inside enemy-saturated space. It is held by the Emerald Covenant and surrounded by the largest concentration of Fallen Angelic Legions in the Time Matrix. That contradiction is the whole story.

Because the gate is so exposed, command was escalated: it is directed by the Gold Order Aethien Mantis and Emerald Order Feline-hominid Christos Founders from the Lyran High Council itself.
